A FREE OUTREACH MINISTRY TO THE COMMUNITY
The people of Our Redeemer depend on grace. We know that we don’t deserve God’s love or eternal life because we are sinful people like anybody else. But we also know that Jesus loves us enough to pay the price for us to have eternal life. That’s GRACE. At Grace Happens! we pass out food, play games, play music, offer amusement rides, and paint faces for anyone who comes, and we do it for FREE! We do it because we love our neighbors and want to reflect the grace given to us. For more information contact Ken and Laurel French or call the church office at 476-9991.
What is "Grace" anyway? Grace is when you get something you haven't earned or perhaps even deserve. At our event the food, drink, entertainment, etc. is something you didn't have to earn or buy. It is was gift to you. It was grace.
The "grace" given you at our event is nice, but it is not that big of a deal. There is a type of grace that is a very big deal, however. It is the grace that God offers human beings.
The Bible speaks about life after death. It informs us that we will all exist after our body dies, but because we are all sinful and resistant to God we do not deserve eternal life with God. In other words, heaven is not for everyone. It is not even for "good people", because by God's standards nobody qualifies as good.
This is where "grace" comes in. I hope you have heard this Bible passage before, "For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) God doesn't hate us, he loves us. He wants us to have eternal life with him, but his justice requires our condemnation unless somehow our sinfulness is paid for. Jesus did that. Those who believe and want to be God's people can come to him because of Jesus--because of God's grace.
We can't make you believe this, but we hope God can. If you would like to know more about God's grace call or email to us and we would be happy to answer your questions.
